Presentation

Located along a fine-sand beach that’s more than two and half miles long, Les Dunes campsite welcomes you with a brand-new waterpark.

A new waterpark and the sea just steps away

Starting in 2016, Les Dunes Campsite offers a brand-new, 8200 ft² waterpark. It has a deep outdoor pool with different spaces, one for swimming, a whirlpool and a current channel. Children can have fun in the large wading pool with its many water games. For the start of the season or early morning swims, there is an indoor pool (4 feet deep). Lastly, thrill seekers can spend the day on one of the four waterslides (one of which is circular) with a separate splash-landing pool. If you feel lazy between swims, you can kick back in the beach chairs on the 19,400ft² beach. One of the charms of this campsite is the choice it offers between its waterpark and the large, fine-sand beach that you can get to by a trail cutting through the dunes.

Lodging: just what you’re looking for!

No matter what type of lodging you have in mind, you’ll find it here. If you come with a camper van, a motorhome or a camper, you can enjoy comfortable camping spots that are more than 1,000 ft², and some of them even have private bathrooms. If you are looking for a mobile home, there are many different ones available and they come in two tiers of accommodation: comfort and prestige. They range from a small “Confort Aloes” mobile home for four people to the “Prestige Solarium”, which can accommodate up to eight people in three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It also has a solarium roof.

Activities for everyone!

No matter what your age is, there is no risk of growing bored during your stay. The staff will see to that. Children ages 4 to 7 can participate in the Kids Club with dedicated, qualified counsellors. The same goes for children 8 to 12 years old. They can join the Junior Club. And the older kids can spend time at the Adolescent Club. Adults can experience the joy of a morning pool exercise session, go to the fitness area or join in different sport competitions. In 2016, new facilities were installed, such as tennis courts, a mini-golf course, beach volleyball courts, an area for kids with a yurt, a playground, and even a “zen zone” next to the beach with sun beds. In the evening there are even more activities such as events, concerts, etc.

Also…

Like the rest of the campsite, you’ll see there are many possibilities at the new restaurant after looking at large menu with dishes you can enjoy at the table or for take away, or you can even order just a quality snack (for a bite to eat beside the pool for example) as well as many types of ice cream. There is a mini-market in the campsite so you don’t have to leave to buy different supplies. You can also hire bicycles on site so you can explore the surrounding area.

Perpignan

Visiting the city of Perpignan is not to be missed during your stay in the Western Pyrenees. There are many splendid monuments in the heart of Perpignan awaiting your visit: the Castillet, the Natural History Museum, the Aviation Museum, the Museum of Coins and Medals, etc. You can also visit the Dominican Church, Casa Xanxo, or even the Minimes Convent.

Camp de Rivesaltes Memorial

Built in 1938, this was an internment camp for Spanish refugees at first, and then starting in 1941, it was used for Jews and gypsies. After the Algerian War, it was used as a camp to house Harki Algerians between 1986 and 2007, and then it was a administrative holding centre before closing for good. Today it serves as a memorial museum that shows the history of the camp through its different periods.

Tautavel Prehistoric Museum

As the European centre of prehistory, the Tautavel Prehistory Museum is a complex built around the prehistory Tautavel man where you can travel through the long history of humans in Europe, starting with the first men.
